How to enrol

Every child has the right to access quality public education in their local community. If you live in our local intake area, start your journey to join our vibrant school community today. Follow these key steps:

How to Enrol

If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online application, apply online. Online enrolment is currently only available for children living in NSW who are Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents.

If you are not able to apply online, download the paper “Application to Enrol in a NSW Government School” (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.

Please note: Enrolment procedures are subject to the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy.

Health Conditions and Special Circumstances

During the enrolment process, please let us know of any special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions affecting your child.

Finalising the Application Process

To finalise the application process, you must bring the following documents to the school to be verified:

The school will then contact you to arrange an interview time. An interview will be organised for the student and parent/carer, with the Stage Head Teacher, to finalise the enrolment process. A starting date will be confirmed only at this time.

How to Enrol – Year 6 into Year 7

In NSW government schools, applying to move from primary school to high school is a two-step process that starts with an Expression of Interest. Visit the moving to high school page to learn more about the process.

If you have received an offer from our school for placement into Year 7 next year, the next step is to visit apply online to proceed with the offer and complete the enrolment application. If you did not submit an expression of interest, visit apply online to start a new application to our school.

Temporary Visa Holders

For information about registering with the Temporary Residents Program, visit Temporary Residents Program. DE International is the international unit of the NSW Department of Education. They manage international programs for all overseas students and temporary residents enrolling in a NSW government school. Their customer service number is 1300 300 223.

Once registered with the Temporary Residents Program, all students on a temporary resident visa, are eligible to enrol at CTHS based on their residential address. Apply to enrol by following our enrolling process and use “Application to Enrol in a NSW Government School” (PDF 768.4KB).

International Students

Cherrybrook Technology High School is well over the DoE enrolment cap allocation. International Student enrolment applications will only be considered in extraordinary circumstances and will be subject to all relevant policy & procedural requirements.

Non-Local Enrolments

Due to the high demand for student placement at Cherrybrook Technology High School, the only non-local enrolment applications that may be considered by the Enrolment Panel are those relating to:

False or Misleading Enrolment Information or Practices

The “Application to Enrol in a NSW Government School” form requires the applicant to declare the information provided is correct. It also makes it clear the provision of false information can result in the enrolment being reversed. Any decision to reverse an enrolment considers the special circumstances of the matter. This includes, determining if the student was a non-local enrolment.

If a person provides materially false or misleading information to a school when making an application for enrolment, this is an offence which has a penalty of up to two years imprisonment [Section 307B of the Crimes Act 1900].

School contributions

In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.
