Maths extra-curricular
Each year, the Maths Faculty at CTHS organises a number of different competitions and enrichment programs for students keen on mathematics, as outlined in the table below. Participation in all of these activities is voluntary, and there are varying costs involved.

A series of 4 competitions which runs throughout the year with training provided during regular problem-solving lessons. Students compete as individuals and also as part of a team. CTHS enters 1 Year 7 team and 2 Year 8 teams.

Maths Challenge
Students are given 4 weeks to solve a series of problems, which they can either tackle individually or work on with a partner who is also participating.

Students with a keen interest in mathematics and problem-solving, particularly those in 5.3 or advanced classes.

Maths Enrichment
Teachers introduce students to problem-solving strategies aimed at assisting them in solving a series of problems. These problems are completed by the students at home and then submitted for marking.
