Duke of Ed

Cherrybrook Technology High School offers the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to students.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a positive and rewarding challenge of self-discovery. The program equips, engages and empowers students to explore their potential. Each student who does the framework learns a skill, becomes more physically active, volunteers in their community and undertakes a team adventure. CTHS’s supportive culture has seen many students benefit from the extra-curricular program and we celebrate their accomplishments at Presentation Night.

CTHS is proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award as it aligns with the school values of Respect, Responsibility and Engagement. The Duke of Ed Framework is one of individual challenge placing students outside their comfort zones and providing new and exciting experiences. The Duke of Ed is not a competition against anyone else, but rather a personal challenge. It presents students with a program of voluntary activities that encourage personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility, and community service. Participation is entirely voluntary and is structured so participants can design their own unique program centred on their interests and passions.
